Since Obama has become President job growth has increased, the stock market has vastly improved, and big business (despite their bitching and negative propaganda), has had record profits.
Meanwhile Republicans in the Senate, the House and in the states they dominate have done everything they can to block Obama's policies (while at the same time taking full advantage politically of everything he has managed to get passed).
But huge portions of the media along with the Republicans have and continue to misrepresent these facts. Even asking questions like "...but will it last?" after prefacing it with this months figures which implies that growth hasn't been there.
Obama has done an outstanding job considering the outrageous mess he was left with, the outrageous policies implemented by Bush and many of these Republicans and these same corporate supporters who are now funding them. Obama has done an incredible job considering the fact he has had to deal with the most obstructive, opposition party this nation has ever seen despite the fact almost every decision they have made they have done knowing full well they were making such decisions while massively hurting, even destroying the wealth, freedom and well being of millions of American citizens and all for political ideology.
Sed, Obama's done great considering He's never had a job exept for some legal work for Acorn ? Is that what You mean ? Jimmy Carter was on a week ago, and said He created more jobs than any other president. Someone needs to get their facts straight. Obama has done more for muslim outreach than He has for jobs in this country. And don't tell Me We need more stimulus spending !!!!! The ignorance of those who really may not see because they are kept in the dark was really expressed by a lot of those who came before us. But we do not have to be so complaisant of it. We know that the top 20% have been enjoying the controlling of the 93% of the wealth in the country and those 80% remaining share only 7%. So, we can change that. We know it is not because the bottom 80% are stupid that they cannot create wealth. But we know it was by policies. It is a no brainer. Why is the minimum wage $7/hour and not $20 which is a living wage. And if the government has not been regulating prices then who has been. the greedy corporation. So, we have to change that. Organizations like ALEC should not be allowed to have so much influence in our policy making. If we take away the power of the government to regulate then they (the corporations) will regulate the prices and the salaries and we know their primary reasons for existing is profits. So will they be fair??

Joe and Valerie Plame Wilson had said that Marcy knew more about the Plame investigation/trial than they did. I still encourage you to go over to Emptywheel's website she covers torture issues, false intelligence issues etc etc. She is brilliant, well researched and I know you would appreciate her brilliance and fact based blog. Chris last night when you announced you were going to be talking about Iran later on in the program I believe (I take notes during your program) you referred to Irans nuclear program as a "nuclear weapons program" I went back and listened to the 9 minute segment with Engel and Dr. Zbig and can not find it. But will listen to the other segments because I believe you said this. Please be more careful and accurate. There is no hard evidence that Iran has an active nuclear weapons program.
When Engel said "Israel in fact does have nuclear weapons" you quickly and in a mumbled response said "yes we know that yeah" You successfully moved around the massive hypocrisy that Iran signed the NPT Israel has not signed the NPT yet demands that their neighbors abide by an agreement that Israel continues to refuse to sign. Come on go further...if your owners will allow. Talk about the NPT, the history of the NPT. Who signed who did not. How President Kennedy was the last President to demand that Israel open up Dimona to inspections. You can go to the IAEA's website and read letters from Kennedy to Ben Gurion about this iissue

Less than 3% of what planned parenthood does is abortion. The overwhelming majority of what PP does is women's health (i.e cancer screening, cancer prevention and the multitude of other women's health problems) that poor and middle class women would not have access to otherwise.
Since Obama took office I have heard that he was a member a radical christian sect, radical muslim sects, a secret muslim, wasn't born in the U.S., has been trying to take our guns and ammo away, is a Nazi, a socialist, a European, has made it so it's impossible for caucasians to get loans but 100% guaranteed for African Americans and Muslims to get loans, has legally represented and formed a nefarious (and fictitious) fraudulent voting association (Acorn), has aided and abetted foreign enemies, has been against big business, has raised taxes, has increased unemployment (killed jobs), been soft on terrorism, been initiating class warfare, just to name a few things that come to mind and that are completely false.
On the other hand the corporations, and their representatives the Republicans decreased the regulations that allowed them to cheat millions of Americans out of their mortgages, lose massive equity in their property values, pulled trillions of dollars out of their corporations, claim they were bankrupt and then demand trillions of taxpayer dollars to "make them solvent" again instead of using their own fortunes to do so. After all this the Republicans and their corporate bosses claim those trillions of taxpayers losses were due not to corporate bailouts, tax cuts and corporate welfare but rather to Social Security, Medicare and government employee salaries.
Republicans and Corporate leaders lie, cheat and steal from the American citizens regularly. They have no honor. I know, I graduated from a federal military academy where the only sins were lying, cheating and theft. If a cadet was caught doing so he/she was kicked out, lost their officer status and could even be sent to federal prison. It amazes me that to get into a federal academy you need an appointment from a Senator/Congressman or the President and the honor code is approved by them but obviously they do not hold themselves to the same standards.
The Republican party as a whole has absolutely no idea no do they care what honor is, and lying, cheating and theft has become as necessary as food and water to them.

The chilling aspect is that any church in any business can do whatever it wants to do, in the name of religious liberty (and of-course pay no tax).
When any church decides to go into business (like health related), they need to play by secular rules. They do not get a pass every time by "crying like little bitches" about religious liberties!
And by the way, (I do not mean majority of Catholics or Priests) many priests that do bad things, like church-didlers whom molest children, simply confess to one another (other didlers) and truly believe they get a pass from God. Protecting this type of activity (another major problem), in the name of religious liberty.
Any type of bad behavior done by church organizations always seem to cry religious liberty. The truth is, when right-wing says liberals are attacking churches, what they really want is divide and conquer, this is just another use of "phony outrage!"

"Socialized Medical" has been there since 60 years ago. Longer than Obama's age. It worked for those who used it and it works for the congress as well. Their medical insurance come out of our tax dollars. Why not extend that to all of us? Why are the servants of the public have a better medical insurance than the public? If it is communism when it is for all the citizens why isn't it communism when it is for them?
Why haven't subsidies (corporate welfare) stopped? Why if corporations are people why don't they have the same requirement as regular citizen to get government help? And why they do not share their profits with everyone when those subsidies come from everyone's pockets? Shouldn't we be part of their shareholders since everyone who pays taxes have contributed to their profit making?

As for all of you that claim you love Christ and life it is horribly hypocritical of you that you support the death penalty! After all Jesus himself was put to death under the death penalty! He spoke regularly about not judging others (as did all of the prophets in the Old Testament or Jewish text). Further the last Pope (I dont know about this one) used to have huge processions with hundreds even thousands of people leading from the vatican to the Roman Forum and back every time a country banned the death penalty. But the American Catholics NEVER stand up against it here. Even if you watch the Roman Catholic cable channel you will notice every day they have several hours preaching against abortion but I have NEVER SEEN ONE PROGRAM OR MENTION EVER regarding the death penalty in all of the years of that channel has been in operation even when the Pope was actively promoting efforts to ban it.

I was raised and schooled as a Roman Catholic and received a superior education for which I am grateful. However, I separate church and state. I am smart enough to make my own choices. I don't believe in certain things but I will not force my will on others because I live in a free democratic nation. Republicans dont feel that way. They dont believe others should be free. They believe that others should be forced to follow their rules just like other horrible, criminal, world leaders of the past even the recent past.
After 4 years and $6 trillion dollars, unemployment only went down 1% from 9.5%-8.5%. Folks that is slow growth, very anemic at best. Remember we already wasted $6 trillion dollars, by now we should have built the tallest skyscraper, the fastest bullet train, an autobahn, the most beautiful airport with fleets of Airbus 380 and yes, a moon colony. Cindy your Republican party have laid off 500,000 government workers. They have been responsible for killing tens of thousands private sector jobs. The New Jersey Governor killed the NY-NJ tunnel job right in the middle of it's construction even though Obama gave him half of the funds to complete it. Th Repub Gov of Fla. killed the high speed rail job even though once again he was offered federal funds.
The Repubs in the House and Senate have killed dozens of jobs and small business bills in the last two years.
